I just realized that maxi skirts can be a way much warmer option for Winter than jeans :)
And If you'll style them with the right top & outerwear, I can guarantee that you will look and feel yourself just gorgeous! And here're some of my tips for how to make this possible.
So, first things first — your SKIRT should be:
1. Warm. I highly recommend you choosing wool or wool blend pieces like this one.
2. Stylish. Maxi skirts can only look two ways — absolutely awful or absolutely great, there's nothing in between.
So you should be really careful while choosing your piece — don't buy a skirt that doesn't fit you or emphasizes parts of your body you're not proud of. Go with something that makes you feel absolutely confident and rock it! :)
TOPS. And here I would recommend you one thing — layering.
If you want to emphasize your waist, yet don't want to freeze, try wearing a thin sweater from natural materials under the belt, and complete the look, for example, with a warm cardigan if it's really cold outside. We've had -12C yesterday, and this wool sweater from Mango kept me warm even without extra layering. Yet if you have a lower temperature, Mango offers a huge range of cardigans from natural materials so you can look for your best cape there :)
A few words about OUTERWEAR.
I personally think that a short fur coat is the best option for maxi skirts. Firstly, it adds a touch of feminity to your look, and secondly, it will keep you extra warm during cold Winter days & nights. But if you're not a fan of any fur materials, you can easily switch them to duffle jackets. Yet keep in mind, that it's better to have a belt on your jacket. It will emphasize your waist and prevent you from looking like a shapeless snowball. I tried both variants and yep, they both look great!
And last but not least — SHOES.
My advice — keep it simple & wear heels. They will make you look taller and prevent your skirt from sweeping the snow around you.
